Key Responsibilities:
Assist lead teachers with developing, preparing, and implementing lesson plans and IEP goals
Reinforce learning through one-on-one and small group instruction for diverse learners
Oversee students during non-classroom times, including lunch, recess, and field trips
Assist with documentation of student progress and parent communication
Support classroom management, behavioral interventions, and positive reinforcement strategies
Participate in professional development, conferences, and meetings related to special education
QualificationsIdeal Candidates Have:
Passion for working with children with diverse abilities and special needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills in educational settings
Commitment to professional growth and development in child education
Experience or interest in trauma-informed care and behavioral support
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Associate's degree in education, special education, child development or related field preferred
Paraprofessional certification a plus
2-3 years of experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly with special needs
Knowledge of classroom management techniques and positive behavioral interventions
