The Children's Guild is seeking a Teachers Assistant who will be responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in implementing goals and objectives established in the individualized instructional programs for children enrolled in the school.

This position will be supervised by the teacher(s).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting the lead teacher with the development, preparation, and implementation of lesson plans;
  • Reinforcing lessons by reviewing materials with students one-on-one or in small groups;
  • Overseeing students during non-classroom times, including lunch break, field trips, and outdoor activities;
  • Assisting lead teachers with the documentation of student progress and communication with parents;
  • Assisting the lead teacher with recordkeeping, such as daily attendance and calculating grades;
  • Participating in professional development, conferences, and meetings.
  • Reporting to the assigned teacher(s).

The potential candidate must continuously grow towards proficiency in instruction, teamwork, and professional development.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree, Associate degree, High School diploma, or equivalent qualification. Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices. Must have a compassionate and positive attitude; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
