PeaceHealth’s Pre-anesthesia Testing Clinic in Springfield, OR is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support preoperative evaluations and optimization for patients undergoing surgery. The role emphasizes comprehensive risk assessment and collaboration with anesthesiology to ensure patient readiness.

The successful candidate will perform chart reviews, interpret EKGs and labs onsite, and coordinate additional diagnostic testing as needed.

Responsibilities

• Chart Evaluation — Reviews medical histories for patients with key health risk indicators to determine optimization status and confirm suitability for upcoming procedures.
• EKG and Lab Review — Performs onsite interpretation of pre-procedure EKGs and laboratory results in accordance with established clinical protocols.
• Diagnostic Study Coordination — Orders additional diagnostic testing when indicated by chart review or medication assessment, including Cardiac Risk Stratification and other pre-operative evaluations.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration — Works in partnership with the PAT Control Room and surgical teams to ensure timely review of elective procedures, including obtaining prior medical records and facilitating provider-to-provider case discussions when needed.
• Schedule — Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
