Mass General Brigham in Boston seeks a Physician Assistant to join the Interventional Radiology team on a full-time basis. The PA will assess and manage ambulatory and inpatient patients, perform consults, and participate in the continuum of IR care from pre-procedure to follow-up.

Ideal candidates hold a Master's in PA studies, MA license, and can work 4x10s with occasional Saturday shifts on the MGH Main Campus at 90 Blossom Street.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, counseling, and teaching in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and procedural settings.

• Develop care plans and follow-up based on diagnostic results.
• Order medications and write prescriptions according to policies.

Job Summary

This is a full time need on the MGH Main Campus. Ideal Candidate can work 4x10s, with occasional Saturday shifts. If you are passionate about procedure and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments you will love the world of interventional Radiology (IR) where you will perform minimally invasive image guided procedures independently and be a critical part of a patients care team along the entire continuum of their IR procedural journey.

You will be involved in all aspects of care, from the new consult visits in clinic conducting consults and explaining risks/benefits, to supporting them post procedure through inpatient rounding, then see them at their follow up visit to assess treatment response, and triaging any issue that might arise throughout their experience with IR.

You’ll work side by side with interventional radiologists as part of a care team and collaborate with nurses, technologists, medical assistance, trainees, referring providers, etc.

The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider.

The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
• Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
