Job summary
Huntsville Hospital in Alabama is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to provide comprehensive direct patient care and scholarly practice including taking patient histories, performing physical exams, and coordinating diagnostic testing.
You will diagnose illnesses, prescribe treatments, and deliver health maintenance and education to patients and families, while supporting staff education, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- MSN required and NP certification
- Current Alabama NP license or PA license with Alabama Board of Nursing/Board of Medical Examiners
- BLS certification by end of orientation
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care and patient histories
- Perform complete physical examinations and order/interpret diagnostic tests
- Diagnose illnesses and prescribe treatments
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance and counseling
- Support indirect care duties: staff education, clinical research, program development, quality improvement
- Assist in clerical functions as needed
