Job Summary

Direct and coordinate food preparation in the cooking areas under initial directions of the café supervisor. The ideal candidate enjoys a fast-paced environment and prioritizes customer service and store cleanliness.

Strives for superior performance by providing quality products and services that contribute to the patient and family experience, demonstrating understanding of patient and family-centered care.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare food for breakfast and lunch daily.
  • Assist customers in selecting salad or wrap combinations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communication.
  • Prepare food items according to recipes and systems.
  • Clean and sanitize work surfaces and equipment.
  • Work with a sense of urgency to complete tasks and assist customers.
  • Follow new menu recipes with training.
  • Operate POS system and cash register with training.
  • Complete daily setup and closing duties.
  • Support other production positions as needed.
  • Support hospital mission, policies, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Education
  • High school diploma or GED.
Experience
  • Preferred: experience in institutional cooking or training provided.
Physical Abilities
  • Stand, kneel, crouch, lift up to 20 lbs frequently, push/pull/carry up to 100 lbs.
  • Vision, motor coordination, speaking, and hearing skills required.
Technical Abilities
  • Proficiency with office and kitchen equipment, measuring and food prep skills.
Mental Abilities
  • Ability to focus, interpret documents, follow directions, organize tasks, and perform basic math.
Sensory Requirements
  • Visual, auditory, taste, and smell capabilities for food safety and quality.
Interpersonal Skills
  • Professional communication, teamwork, and maintaining composure under stress.
