Job description

Overview: Rupp Pfalzgraf LLC is a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national client base. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Attorney to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with clients on complex tax matters related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A), succession planning, and a variety of business law transactions. With our commitment to strategic growth, we are looking to add 1-3 accomplished tax attorneys to our practice over the next year.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert legal advice and counsel on tax-related issues to clients nationwide.
  2. Represent sophisticated firm clients in implementing effective tax-driven structures for corporate and real estate transactions and advise clients on New York State and federal tax matters.
  3. Assist clients in structuring and executing M&A transactions focusing on tax efficiency and compliance.
  4. Develop and implement tax strategies for business succession planning.
  5. Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals on business law transactions to ensure seamless integration of tax considerations.
  6. Maintain and grow client relationships, delivering exceptional service and value.
  7. Stay informed on the latest developments in tax law and apply them to client matters.
  8. Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  2. Admitted to practice law in New York State.
  3. 5-15 years of experience practicing tax law, preferably with a focus on business transactions.
  4. CPA certification or an LLM in tax law is desirable but not required.
  5. Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  6. Ability to manage complex projects and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  7. Commitment to providing exceptional client service.
