Household Manager | Nanny – Westport, CT
Part-Time (~30-35 hrs/week) | Competitive Salary | Long-Term Role | Driving Required
A busy, professional family in Westport, CT, is seeking a capable, proactive, and nurturing Household Manager/Nanny to help manage their home and two children ages 12 & 15. This role is ideal for someone highly organized, discreet, and flexible who enjoys managing schedules, preparing meals, handling errands, and being a reliable presence for the family.
Schedule:
- Mon–Thurs: 12:30 pm–6:30 pmFriday: 1:00 pm–5:00 pm (~28–30 hours/week) Additional hours may be offered during school breaks, family travel, or special occasions, with advance notice.
Compensation & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:
Household Management & Family Support
- Grocery shopping, meal prep, and family dinner cooking
- Light housekeeping: laundry, dishes, kitchen tidying, recycling
- Household organization and supply management
- Running errands (dry cleaning, prescriptions, store returns, etc.)
- Coordinating service providers and scheduling appointments
- Managing household calendar and assisting with travel prep
Child-Related Duties
- Safe and timely school/activity pickups and drop-offs
- Homework oversight and supporting good habits/manners
- Packing lunches, preparing backpacks, and overseeing hygiene routines
- Occasional overnights when parents travel
- Supporting enrichment, play, and respectful discipline
Pet Care
- Watch Dog if the Employer needs to ensure quiet during important work meetings
- Walk Dog ~2-3 times a week
- Occasional pet sitting (and limited care for relatives’ small dogs when visiting)
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced in both childcare and household management
- Proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented
- Able to drive (must have a valid license and a clean record)
- Comfortable cooking family meals and keeping the kitchen organized
- Discreet, kind, and communicative
- Trustworthy with a positive, calm demeanor
Additional Notes:
- Non-smoking, drug-free, social media discretion required
- No guests permitted in the home without advance approval
- A security system is in use on the property
