Job Description

Micropore, Inc., a small manufacturing facility in Elkton, MD, conducts extrusion, extraction, and final packaging of a unique material. We are looking for manufacturing personnel as we experience rapid growth. Our products include a world-class carbon dioxide adsorbent used by the US military, in 75% of the world's submarines, and in the anesthesia market. Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. We are hiring all levels of manufacturing personnel.

Position is for the night shift, 12 AM - 8:30 AM. The position is based in Elkton, MD, with training on the day shift (8 AM - 4:30 PM) for the first two to three weeks.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Manufacturing Operator assists with manufacturing, packaging, and related production tasks using various equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Become proficient in tasks such as:
    • Running equipment independently
    • Checking tolerances
    • Packaging products
    • Inline quality control
    • Winding, punching, stamping, chopping of materials
  • Maintain clear records
  • Report equipment malfunctions
  • Conduct routine maintenance
  • Maintain ISO 9001 training tasks
  • Communicate daily with the Production Manager
  • Attend meetings
  • Keep work area tidy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Demonstrated Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Use gauges and perform quality inspections
  • Availability for shift work and overtime
  • Ability to read and understand instructions
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Teamwork and relationship-building skills
  • Flexibility and receptiveness to feedback
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles (preferred)

  • Physical ability to bend, stand, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs.
