Job summary

FullShift Staffing is seeking a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) for a full-time position in California. New graduates are encouraged to apply. The role involves providing nursing care within scope of practice and following physician orders, center policies, and regulatory guidelines.

The LVN will participate in infection control, quality improvement, and patient/family education, with opportunities for professional growth and rounds with physicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Current LVN license in the state of California.
• One-year nursing management experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders as permitted by Nurse Practice Act.
• Make rounds with physicians when necessary.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Notify other departments of patient changes (room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge).
• Utilize infection control and quality improvement processes as outlined by facility policies.

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Qualifications
