Job summary

AMG Tech Support seeks skilled technicians to support our national client base in field environments. Expect OS installs, cabling work, telecom tasks, and hands-on hardware troubleshooting across diverse sites.

You will be on call within your territory, maintain a professional client relationship, and handle assignments with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• One year of IT or Telecom experience preferred.
• Strong hands-on technical skills across OS, hardware, and cabling.
• Ability to work independently in varied field environments.

This role goes far beyond basic helpdesk tasks — one day you might be installing an operating system, the next you're drilling through walls and running structured cabling across entire buildings, or terminating a 66-block.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of technical tasks including but not limited to:
  • OS installations, hardware diagnostics, and software setup
  • Structured cabling (including drilling, running, and dressing cables)
  • Telecom work (punch-downs, demarc extensions, etc.)
• Work independently across various environments: retail, medical, restaurant, and corporate
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism with clients
• Be on call and ready to respond to service requests within your territory

Preferred Skills & Experience

• PC and printer troubleshooting experience (a strong plus)
• At least 1 year of I.T. or Telecom experience, and one of the following:
  • A+ Certification
  • Network+ Certification
  • OR 5+ years verifiable field experience in I.T./Telecom

Required Equipment & Qualifications

• Reliable personal vehicle (Public transportation not accepted)
• Valid driver’s license
• Must have a standard set of tools for basic I.T. and networking tasks (e.g., screwdrivers, cable testers, crimpers).
• Laptop with Ethernet port
• Smartphone with mobile hotspot
• Ability to accept job assignments based on your availability; being on-call 24/7 is a strong advantage.
• Punctual, courteous, and presentable
