Our Oakland Team is currently seeking Behavior Specialists to join our dynamic and growing team! We are currently seeking an experienced ABA therapist to fill our home needs in the Oakland area and surrounding cities. If accepted for this role, you will need to be able to travel between the various cities comfortably.

The Center for Social Dynamics (CSD) is an organization providing services to those with developmental delays, including autism. Our mission is to open a world of possibilities for individuals with Autism and other developmental needs through science, compassion, and humility.

About the Opportunity:

The primary responsibility of a Relief Behavior Specialist is to implement consistent evidence-based mental health services and Applied Behavioral Analysis programs to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other co-morbid developmental disabilities in response to the recommendations of the Clinical Leader and Clinical Director. Duties & Responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting 100% of scheduled sessions, unless time-off has been granted.
  2. Primarily responsible for conducting subbing sessions for other clients.
  3. Implementing individualized treatment goals and Behavioral Intervention Plans.
  4. Traveling to Center, Home, and other community settings to deliver services.
  5. Communicating schedule changes and cancellations to the clinical team immediately.
  6. Participating in regular meetings and promptly communicating with Clinical Leaders.
  7. Completing necessary clinical documentation.
  8. Attending staff meetings, in-services, trainings, and other meetings as requested.
  9. Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • You enjoy working with children and making a difference!
  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Flexible availability - high demand for time Monday through Thursday from 3-8 pm.
  • Complete new hire training conducted online and in person.
  • Proof of vaccinations (MMR, Varicella, and COVID – California mandated).
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion.
  • Able to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in computer/word processing software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant visual stimulation, including close vision, distance vision, reading, computer work.
  • Constant sitting; frequent up and down out of chair.
  • Constant use of telephone, speaking, listening.
  • Frequent typing, use of computer.
  • Occasional walking around the building.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, moving of items up to 20 pounds.
