Job summary

LexLive is seeking energetic bartenders to join the Downtown Lexington team. You will mix, pour, and serve cocktails and other beverages while providing outstanding guest service in a fast-paced environment.

We value knowledge of cocktails and spirits, strong customer service, and the ability to multitask during busy events. Evening and weekend availability is required to support sports events, private parties, and promotions at LexLive.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, bar, or comparable hospitality environment.
• Working knowledge of cocktails, mixed drinks, beer, wine, and spirits.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly, outgoing personality with a guest-first attitude.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
• Basic math skills and experience handling cash and electronic payments.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be at least 20 years old, Kentucky bartending age requirement.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

What You'll Do

Mix, Pour & Serve

• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages accurately, consistently, and efficiently.

• Follow established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.

• Provide friendly, attentive, and engaging service to every guest.

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, bourbon, beer, wine, and featured beverages.

• Make recommendations and use suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.

• Handle multiple guest orders while maintaining speed, accuracy, and quality.

Create an Amazing Guest Experience

• Welcome guests with a positive attitude and an outgoing personality.

• Build relationships with guests and help create an atmosphere that keeps them coming back.

• Stay calm, organized, and professional during high-volume business periods.

• Work with servers, barbacks, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service.

• Assist with beverage service during sporting events, private parties, corporate gatherings, and special promotions.

• Address guest questions or concerns professionally and involve management when appropriate.

Keep the Bar Running Smoothly

• Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and restocking responsibilities.

• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked bar stations.

• Monitor product levels and communicate replenishment needs to management.

• Follow proper product rotation, storage, and inventory procedures.

• Minimize waste through accurate pouring, proper handling, and responsible product usage.

• Accurately process guest transactions using the POS system and follow all cash-handling procedures.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the bar and service areas.

Safety, Responsibility & Teamwork

• Verify guest identification and follow all applicable alcohol service laws and regulations.

• Recognize signs of intoxication and practice responsible alcohol service.

• Follow company policies, food safety standards, and health department requirements.

• Support fellow team members during busy shifts and special events.

• Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for guests and employees.

• Experience serving guests during large events, parties, or entertainment activities.
