Job summary

OPB seeks a NW Region Chief Engineer to lead maintenance of broadcast infrastructure across the Network Center and 17 remote sites from Portland to The Dalles. You will supervise 5 maintenance engineers, mentor staff, and drive modernization with an agile mindset.

The role blends IT and traditional broadcast tasks, requiring strong project and budget management, and knowledge of FCC regulations. Extended hours and field travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in broadcast, video, or large IP networks.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead and teach others in equipment management.
• Knowledge of FCC regulations governing TV/radio broadcast.
• Experience managing large budgets and timelines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repair of Network Center and NW Region equipment.
• Plan and implement technical and equipment changes to support content creation and distribution.
• Oversee procurement of equipment and budget management.
• Develop maintenance programs and emergency response plans.
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to emergencies when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of RF, distribution networks, and Net Center systems.
