Job summary

Knife River Corporation is seeking an experienced Northwest Environmental Manager to lead environmental permitting, compliance, and risk management across aggregate mining, concrete, asphalt, and related operations in Oregon and Washington. The role requires translating regulatory obligations into practical actions while guiding leadership and site teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in environmental science or closely related field.
At least 10 years of progressively responsible environmental experience including program management, permitting and compliance.
Experience supporting construction materials, aggregate mining or related industrial operations.
Experience interacting with DEQ/DSL/DNR and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Ability to travel regularly to operating locations throughout Oregon.

Responsibilities

Lead the Oregon/Washington environmental compliance program for active operations, development projects, acquisitions, expansions and closures.
Oversee permitting, agency coordination and reporting requirements across facilities.
Manage stormwater, process water, fuels, hazardous materials and compliance documentation.
Develop plans, budgets and manage consultants, laboratories, contractors and specialists.
Coordinate training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
