The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. It offers transitioning service members valuable civilian work experience through an internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The program is open to all ranks and experience levels. Participants continue to receive military compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities for this internship position are:

Northrop Grumman has developed the Northrop Grumman – Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) to support transitioning service members. During this program, service members will perform an individual internship supporting a work schedule of approximately 40 hours per week. The program aims to provide professional development, networking, and training aligned with NG's mission and values.

Goals

Provide transitioning service members with job skills training during the last part of their military service, with the potential to transition to full-time employment at NG.

Objectives

Ensure interns are highly trained, capable, and aligned with the organization's needs, preparing them to contribute effectively from Day 1. The program includes professional development, leadership engagement, and training on NG principles, history, and responsibilities.

Outcome

Offer transitioning service members a rewarding opportunity to join Northrop Grumman.

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:
  • Served at least 180 days on active duty
  • Within 12 months of separation or retirement
  • Honorable discharge
  • Completed TAPS/TGPS
  • Attended ethics brief within last 12 months
  • Received approval from Unit Commander to participate

Position: Senior DevSecOps Engineer

Supports the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit supporting a Ground program. Locations may include Morrisville, NC; Aurora, CO; Fairfax, VA; or Linthicum, MD.

This role involves planning and evolving processes and infrastructure for rapid capability deployment, supporting CI/CD pipelines, automation, and security integration, following agile principles. Note: This position requires onsite work and does not support remote/hybrid arrangements.

Basic Qualifications
  • Active U.S. DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance at application
  • Relevant experience depending on level (see detailed experience requirements)
  • Experience with microservices development, Kubernetes, AWS/C2S, Terraform, Linux, Ansible, Jira, Jenkins, Git, API Security, Container Security, AWS Cloud Security
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active/Adjudicated Polygraph
  • Experience with automation, CICD solutions, Docker, Helm, space vehicle ground segment, Agile, technical writing, team building

Salary Range: $100,300 - $165,500; Salary Range 2: $124,900 - $206,000. Compensation includes benefits, bonuses, and incentives. The application period is approximately 20 days from posting, subject to change.
