Job summary

Virginia Tech seeks a Regional Recruiter for Northern California to lead undergraduate admissions efforts across Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. The role emphasizes travel to colleges and events, evaluating applications, and building relationships with students, parents, counselors, and educators.

You will represent VT at college fairs and campus programs, coordinate yield activities, and manage outreach events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; several years in undergraduate admissions.
• Strong time-management, organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication; public-speaking experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel).
• Willingness to travel extensively to cover the territory and campus.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong event-planning experience and service orientation to students and parents.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Master’s degree preferred; experience with high schools and counselor groups is a plus.
• Experience with CRM, Microsoft Tools, and Google Apps suite.

Responsibilities

• Represent Virginia Tech at college fairs, high school visits, and other events.
• Evaluate assigned applications and aid in the yield of admitted students.
• Maintain extensive contact with prospects, parents, counselors, and educational professionals.
• Arrange off-campus recruitment and yield programs and receptions.
• Manage Alumni & Parent Admissions Events and related campaigns.
• Attend recruitment programs in Northern California and surrounding regions.
• Travel 4–6 trips to Blacksburg for training and updates.
• Work evenings and weekends; stand and walk for extended periods; lift up to 40 pounds.
