Job summary

Mitsui & Co. Energy Marketing and Services (USA), Inc. seeks a Power Trader to optimize the Northeast US power portfolio for near-term markets.

The role requires close coordination with Origination teams and other Mitsui entities, with a strong grasp of grid dynamics and market participants. The successful candidate will bring deep trading experience, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting (or related field).
• Minimum 3 years of trading experience required.
• 5 years of experience in trading environment required.
• Experience with Allegro a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute profitable speculative trading positions in the Northeast power markets, predominantly within a 1–3-month period.
• Manage daily and prompt month physical power positions in the portfolio.
• Communicate market information to traders and scheduling personnel in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with traders in adjacent markets to optimize assets across large geographic areas.
• Support scheduling duties within the region and assist risk, IT, and accounting to ensure deals are managed correctly.
• Build relationships with third parties to expand Mitsui’s regional presence and identify longer-term opportunities.
