Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center is seeking an North Strand Freestanding ER RN to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ER setting. You will collaborate with physicians and care teams, document care in medical records, and educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans.

Required certifications include ACLS within 1 year, BLS within 30 days, and PALS within 1 year, along with RN Diploma.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification within 1 year of employment start date.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS certification within 1 year of employment start date.
• RN Diploma held and active licensure as an RN.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the ER.

• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The North Strand Freestanding ER Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Registered Nurse Diploma
