North Carolina Roadway Design Project Leader/ Project Manager

Mead & Hunt is looking for a project leader with prior experience working on DOT projects to join the Raleigh office’s established roadway design group. The engineer will be responsible for managing roadway design projects; overseeing the technical development and delivery of projects; mentoring junior staff members; and working with clients. This position presents a tremendous opportunity to grow into a supervisor role in the future.
The group regularly pursues and wins some of the most complex and interesting projects in North Carolina. They are currently working through an extensive backlog of signature and high-profile projects. The team has recently completed design for an interchange project along I-85 and is also working on design of grade separations for a major section of the Raleigh to Richmond rail project, which recently reached Notice to Proceed (NTP). The majority of projects are located in North Carolina and minimal travel is required for this position.

Requirements:
• BS in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
• 8+ years of experience
• Roadway Design experience is required.
• Project management experience.
• Familiarity with Microstation/Geopak SS2 Corridor Modeling and/or ORD
• Experience working with DOTs is required. While NCDOT experience is preferred, candidates with DOT experience from any state will be considered.
