Job summary

North American Trailer is seeking a Tank Mechanic/Technician for our Scanlon, MN Tank Shop. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain tank trailers, ensuring safety and quality while coordinating parts and reports.

The role emphasizes a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability in a fast-paced shop environment. The ideal candidate brings mechanical experience with trucks, trailers or tanks, a clean driving record, and effective communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining tank trailers.
• Ability to disassemble and repair major components as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and body repair as assigned.
• Inspect tank trailers to ensure DOT safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate inspection reports and part tracking.

Responsibilities

• Repair and replace major components and perform routine maintenance.

We are looking for someone with experience as a mechanic working with Trucks, Trailers or Tanks; detail oriented; willing to jump in and help out where needed and has a strong work ethic. This position handles the complete diagnosis, repair and general maintenance and routine servicing and repairing of tank trailers.

The essential duties include:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble vehicles and examine parts for defects and excessive wear.
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major components as needed.
• Perform repair and customization work as assigned including routine maintenance, component troubleshooting and repair, body repair.
• Inspect the overall condition of Tank Trailer to ensure that it meets U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements.
• Compile inspection reports detailing their findings
• Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
• Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
• Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers

Requirements
