Job summary

Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, is seeking a Nordic Spa Housekeeping Manager to lead the Spa Housekeeping Team and ensure exceptional cleanliness and guest experience across the Nordic spa facilities.

You will partner with the General Manager and Maintenance Manager to uphold brand standards, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement in sanitation and service quality. This full-time role requires flexibility for varied shifts in a mountain resort environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in a progressively senior role leading a housekeeping/cleaning department.
• Preference for those with experience in the hotel, hospitality, or aquatic industry
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Recognized team player and a self-starter with strong organizational skills
• Proficient in Windows, PMS, and MS Office applications

Responsibilities

• Leads and supervises the Spa Housekeeping Team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Collaborates with the General Manager and Maintenance Manager to develop and implement strategies and procedures for improving cleanliness and maintenance standards.
• Directs cleaning operations to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across all areas of the spa, including change rooms, lobby, massage pavilion, pools, and facilities.
• Maintains a visible presence in daily operations to support quality first impressions for guests.
• Develops and manages the department budget in coordination with the General Manager and accounting team.
• Oversees performance reviews, scheduling, payroll, forecasting, and inventory management.
• Ensures productivity goals are met while seeking cost and labor efficiency.
• Recruits, trains, and mentors staff to meet company standards of quality, service, and productivity.
• Provides resources, training, direction, coaching, and feedback to team members for their development.
• Addresses and resolves guest issues and complaints effectively with problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
• Champions safety protocols and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Assists in recruitment, financial reviews, expense tracking, and other fiscal activities as needed.
• Collaborates with external vendors to ensure cost efficiency and quality in sourcing products.
• Develops and implements deep cleaning practices to maintain equipment longevity.
• Leads by example with a hands‑on approach to spa cleanliness duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

As the Nordic Spa Housekeeping Manager, you are responsible for the overall cleanliness, detail, servicing, resources, and care of the entire Nordic spa facility. You will lead the Spa Attendant department in ensuring all spa facilities and pool deck are kept to the highest standard while working in partnership with Maintenance Manager to ensure the pool water quality is clean and in accordance with our brand and Provincial Regulatory standards.

Working Conditions

This position will berequiredfor various shifts including early mornings, evenings,weekends,andholidays.Thisposition is set in a fast-paced environment, withhigh levelsof interaction with employees,guests,and otherstakeholders. Working outdoors in a variety ofMountainweather conditions, with average temperaturesranging from –22f to +86f. Visual ability toobserveemployees in the workplace, analyzeoperations,and detect situations of concernregardingareas such as employee performance, grooming, training, and policy adherence.
