Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist specialized in CT. You will perform high-quality CT examinations, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with radiologists to deliver accurate diagnoses while adhering to ALARA standards.

You will work within a team focused on patient care, documentation, and continuous improvement in imaging protocols across departments, with emphasis on radiation safety and patient education.

Qualifications

• Experience in radiology and completion of CT training program.
• Requires familiarity with EMR and PACS workflows.

Responsibilities

• Position patients accurately and safely, maintaining ALARA principles.
• Follow department protocols for patient identification and time-out procedures.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other providers to ensure quality imaging.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and PACS.
• Educate patients about the exam and maintain efficient workflow.

Job Description

• Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
• Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
• Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range
