Job summary

Synergy Staffing in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a senior tax leader to work closely with firm leadership, guiding a talented staff and delivering high-quality nonprofit tax services to a diverse client base.

You will manage engagements, mentor teams, review Forms 990/990-T, and communicate complex tax implications clearly to clients and leadership, while driving efficiency and adherence to regulatory requirements across the nonprofit sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required or equivalent experience
• 7 years of experience in tax compliance and planning including nonprofit/healthcare structures
• 3 years in a management or leadership role

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted team member providing tax and advisory services to nonprofits
• Review and analyze nonprofit tax returns; provide analysis and consult with clients on best practices
• Deliver best-in-class client service, with responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism and accuracy
• Lead and plan client engagements; evaluate processes to improve efficiency and best-practice reporting
• Manage and build client relationships; address issues and assist team leaders with additional services
• Delegate and oversee work by setting goals, providing resources, deadlines for delivery
• Maintain current knowledge of federal and state nonprofit tax laws and regulations
• Leverage entrepreneurial skills to network with clients and community
• Invest in professional development through firm-wide learning programs
