Job summary

The Atlanta Police Foundation is seeking a proactive Staff Accountant to join the Accounting Department. The role supports daily accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support under the supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 1–3 years of experience, with strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable communicating with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and update general ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries and monthly adjusting entries.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure intercompany balances are reconciled.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist in the creation of financial reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
• Conduct variance analysis to support budget planning and decision-making.
• Assist with audit preparation and documentation for auditors.
