Job summary

The Public Interest Network comprises multiple organizations pursuing a shared vision for social change. This role sits in a Financial Department that supports operations in Boston, MA or Denver, CO, with both full-time and part-time options.

We look for candidates who can manage significant budgets, process payroll, and generate GAAP-compliant statements while collaborating across nonprofit groups and field offices to advance our environmental and public health missions.

Qualifications

• Facility working with numbers and data.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
• Interest in nonprofit business management and public interest issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage a combined annual budget of approximately $30 million and oversee the Financial Department team.
• Oversee the collection of funds and the reconciliation of bank accounts.
• Review and process bills for payment.
• Process payroll and related tasks.
• Provide liaison and training on business management issues to citizen outreach offices.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Comply with reporting requirements of state and federal governments.
• Prepare financial management reports.
• Participate as a proactive member of the TPIN community in support of the advocacy program.
