Sprouts Chef Training is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Development Coordinator to support our fundraising efforts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on execution, embraces administrative work, and is eager to grow in nonprofit development. You’ll play a critical behind-the-scenes role in keeping our donor, sponsor, and grant tracking systems organized and running smoothly.

This position will work closely with the Events, Programs, and Leadership teams to track sponsorships, support grant research and submission logistics, and ensure timely follow-up and relationship development with funders and partners. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and excited to support a mission-driven organization through precise, task-based work.

While the Development Coordinator’s direct supervisor is the Operations Director, they carry out the majority of their day-to-day responsibilities in coordination with upper management such as the Founder.

Chef Training Program Overview

Sprouts enables Bay Area and NYC youth to rise from hardship through culinary training and job placement. Youth are paired with chef mentors and case managers to build the skills needed to secure and maintain culinary jobs. Since 2012, Sprouts has supported over 180 youth in achieving stability and financial autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

Sponsorship Tracking & Support

  • Maintain up-to-date records in our CRM (Google sheets) to track sponsor contacts, deliverables, and payments
  • Draft outreach emails and organize follow-up tasks for corporate partners and sponsors
  • Assist with assembling sponsorship decks, agreements, and reports
  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables with the Events and Marketing team

Grant & Foundation Support

  • Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities
  • Maintain calendar of grant deadlines and submission requirements
  • Support the preparation and submission of grant proposals by gathering materials, drafting sections, and ensuring deliverable meets all requirements.
  • Track submissions and maintain organized records of grant communications and outcomes

Donor & Event Coordination

  • Update donor records and contact logs
  • Support donor acknowledgment processes, including thank-you emails and letters
  • Provide administrative support for fundraising events (tracking RSVPs, assembling event collateral, confirming sponsorship recognition)
Skills and Experience
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience (internships or volunteer work in development, nonprofit admin, events, or customer service welcome)
  • Eager to learn the development processes that our Founder has refined through decades of fundraising
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and highly organized
  • Strong written communication and follow-through skills
  • Comfortable with repetitive and administrative tasks (i.e. for conducting outreach)
  • Receptive to feedback and able to adapt to evolving expectations and leadership styles
  • Personable and professional communicator; able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and audiences
  • Comfortable with shifting priorities and drawing inferences; flexible and solution-oriented
  • Proactive about asking questions and seeking clarity when needed
  • Skilled at translating broad ideas into actionable steps and bringing structure to unstructured tasks
  • Familiarity with Google Suite

Locations and Hours
  • Role is open to candidates based in the Bay Area or New York City.
  • Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Remote, minimum of 4 hours of overlap work time required with East / West Coast team members
  • Potential travel to NYC, Bay Area for seasonal events
Commitments and Contract Period

Starting Date Window: July 2025

Compensation
  • $69,000-$75,000, depending on experience and skill set
  • 12 paid vacation days (accrued), annually
  • 13 paid federal holidays, annually
  • $150 monthly remote work stipend
  • $300 monthly tax-free insurance/healthcare stipend through QSEHRA account, eligible after first 30-days of employment
  • Paid sick time
