Job summary

Union Settlement seeks a Chief Financial Officer to oversee all financial activities, including reporting, budgeting, contract reimbursement, billing, and audits. The CFO will supervise BTQ Financial staff and an in-house employee, serving on the senior management team as a strategic partner.

Responsibilities include policy development, cash flow management, audits, and collaboration with the Board and funders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance (CPA beneficial).
• Experience with financial statement analysis and forecasting.
• Non-profit financial management with multi-source funding experience preferable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; analytical, organized, and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains financial policies, procedures, protocols, and performance-based metrics.
• Reviews financial reports prepared by BTQ and external entities, including income statements and audits.
• Oversees BTQ’s accounting, budget, and audit functions; liaises with executives and department heads.
• Monitors cash flow and government/insurance billings; manages accounts receivable and payable.
• Analyzes revenues and expenditures; advises on cash flow improvements and cost savings.
• Ensures controls and records comply with regulations and audit requirements.
• Works with auditors and reports to the Finance and Audit Committee; supports program leadership.
• Plans and analyzes budgeting for agency programs and new initiatives; partners with leadership.
