Job summary

CLA is hiring an Audit & Assurance Senior to join its Nonprofit team. Based in Raleigh, this role focuses on specialized projects for nonprofit clients to help secure funding and support the communities they serve.

In-office position with opportunities to visit client sites as needed. You will lead engagements, review procedures, and contribute to internal controls, while communicating complex financial aspects to clients and management.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage day-to-day activities of nonprofit audit engagements from start to finish, including budgeting, planning, fieldwork, staff direction and FIN statements.
• Review client accounting and operating procedures.
• Develop and assess design and implementation of internal controls.
• Prepare financial statements and related disclosures.
• Communicate technical matters effectively with staff, management, and clients.

CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP is hiring an Audit & Assurance Senior to join CLA's Nonprofit team. In this role, you’ll do specialized work with our not for profit clients, in order to help them secure funding for their institutions and the services they provide to their local communities. This is an in office position based out of one of our Sunbelt office locations: Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston.

How you'll create opportunities in this Audit Senior role:

• Executing and managing the day-to-day activities of audit engagements with our nonprofit clients from start to finish, including managing the budget, planning, fieldwork, directing staff and completing financial statements, including related disclosures
• Reviewing client accounting and operating procedures
• Developing and assessing the design and implementation of internal controls
• Preparing all necessary financial statement and related disclosures and reportable condition correspondence letters
• Utilizing proactive and effective communication with staff, management, and clients to communicate technical matters to both clients and management.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.
• Two or more years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations is required.
• Prior experience with an established public accounting or professional services firm is preferred.Ability to travel to client sites which may also require infrequent overnight travel.
