Lifesteps in Butler, PA, is hiring a part-time Accountant to support the Fiscal and Accounting Department with preparing financial records and reports. The Accountant will perform data entry into the M.I.P.

Accounting System, assist with budget forecasts and the creation of financial statements, and manage closings throughout the month, quarter, and year. Hours are up to 19 per week, Monday through Friday, with a focus on accuracy and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management or related field with 4 years of related experience.
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management or related field with 1 year of related experience.
• Excellent thought processing, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting transactions and assist with bookkeeping
• Prepare budget forecasts
• Assist with creation of financial statements
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Assist with reconciling accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure timely bank payments
• Assist with computing taxes and prepare tax returns
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statement
