Republican Jobs is seeking an Accountant for a client in the Washington, D.C. metro area. The role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, maintains accurate financial records, and supports reporting and compliance in a nonprofit setting.

The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, experience with reconciliations and audits, and the ability to improve internal processes in a fast-paced environment. CPA is preferred but not required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2–5 years of professional accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• CPA designation or equivalent accounting certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily accounting operations.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
• Maintain general ledgers, fixed asset schedules, and prepaid expenses.
• Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting.
• Support annual audits, reviews, and accounting compliance.
• Ensure GAAP-compliant recording of transactions.
• Collaborate with departments to track expenses and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve reporting.
• Maintain organized financial records and internal controls.
