Noninvasive Vascular Laboratory Tech INTERNAL

Summary: The vascular technical staff assumes the responsibilities specified by the Lead Vascular Technologist and is responsible for performing clinical examinations and other assigned tasks.

Education: Successful completion of an ultrasound, vascular technology, or cardiovascular technology program.

Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Vascular or Cardiovascular Technologist, performing a minimum of 600 non-invasive vascular examinations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Prepare preliminary reports and contact referring physicians as required, following established procedures.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all patients in the vascular lab.
  • Review patient records before and after exams to ensure all necessary data is available for interpretation.
  • Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers and interdisciplinary teams, considering cultural, linguistic, and age factors.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues and other disciplines.

Working Conditions, Physical Environment, and Safety Requirements: Visual acuity and hand dexterity are required. Physical activities include stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing, walking, twisting, stretching, reaching, and pushing or pulling objects over 30 lbs. Prolonged standing is also required.
