Job description

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an outstanding cardiologist, ABIM-Board eligible/certified to work full time in our Regional center in Frisco. We will consider both interventional and general cardiology applicants who are superior in all aspects of their specialty. These individuals should also be capable of teaching fellows, Internal Medicine residents, and medical students through clinical rotations, didactic lectures and multidisciplinary conferences.

Cardiology Division, Facilities & Equipment:
  • Nationally recognized Cardiology Division with more than 110 faculty members that fosters a collegial and collaborative environment with a focus on faculty career development.
  • Sites of practice include:
  • The UT Southwestern Frisco clinic is located along the North Dallas Tollway, a multispecialty outpatient facility designed and built to meet the medical needs of the area. It provides the innovative patient care, state-of-the-art technology, and leading-edge research that are UT Southwestern hallmarks.
  • Texas Health Frisco: This hospital is jointly owned by Texas Health Resources and UT Southwestern and is a state of the art facility that includes cardiovascular noninvasive services and two catheterization laboratories. This will be the primary site of hospital practice for this position.
  • William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility designed for patient comfort and well-being where complex tertiary and quaternary care is provided which incorporates advanced technology to enhance multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas County’s exemplary urban public hospital which provides outstanding diagnosis and treatment for virtually every type of condition or disease.
  • A diverse array of specialized services in cardiovascular disease are available to support a general cardiologist’s practice including an interventional program that does complex PCI and structural heart interventions; electrophysiology program (ablations, devices); advanced heart failure/MCS/cardiac transplantation; and programs in preventive cardiology, ACHD, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardio-oncology, hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, sports medicine, cardiac sarcoid, and women’s heart health, amongst others.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or foreign equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiology fellowship program.
  • Board certified/eligible in Cardiovascular Disease with an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas.
