Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited medical school with residency/fellowship in specialty.
• Current or recent experience in the specialty area.
• MD or DO licensed in state; board certified/eligible.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examination of all patients seen.
• Provide cost-effective, high-quality care based on best practice evidenced based medicine.
• Make best efforts to adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines that have been approved by the medical staff.
• Demonstrates competency in assessment, range of treatment, growth and development, and communication appropriate to patient age.
• Provides regular, timely communication with referring physicians, patients and families.
• Participates in education of patients and families.
• Evaluates and implements patient health care needs; initiates treatment via prescriptions, tests and procedures.
• Coordinates patient care and makes referrals to physicians, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, etc.
• Coordinates patient care and family counseling with public and mental health agencies as appropriate.
• Teaches wellness habits and educates patients on prevention of health problems or current problems.
• Maintains knowledge of current medical practices and skills.
• Maintains confidentiality of all materials and proper release of information.
• Complies with policies regarding safety and reporting requirements.
