Job summary

Responsibilities

• Independently perform tasks and guide trainees and Level I/II staff in field or lab NDE inspection activities
• Follow written work instructions
• Setup, standardize, and operate NDE test equipment
• Interpret results of NDE inspections on equipment, systems, and flight hardware
• Perform NDE methods such as Radiography, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Leak Detection, Visual/Optical (CCTV/CWI) and Infrared
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
• Coordinate with NDE engineering/management
• Comply with laboratory best practices and local policies

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Shift Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician supporting the Civilian Division at the Kennedy Space Center, FL. This fulltime represented position is responsible for performing in field and laboratory NDE inspections. This position supports the Kennedy Space Center and United States Space Force 45th Space Wing at Canaveral Space Force Station.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and completion of related NDE technical training curriculum
• Two or more years of experience in Nondestructive Testing
• Must have a Florida Driver’s license
• Minimum of four NDE Level II certification in accordance with ANSI practice (SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E)
• Ability to pass and maintain a security clearance
