Job description

The Noncredit Business and Life Skills Division is currently accepting applications for part-time Basic Skills Interdisciplinary Instructors to teach Adult Basic and Secondary Education in the Student Success Center which includes:


  • GED/HiSET test preparation
  • GCC Adult High School Diploma
  • Concurrent High School Credit Recovery/Advancement Classes
  • Basic Skills
  • College Readiness

Responsibilities include:

  • Coaching basic skills students in reading, mathematics, and writing.
  • Creating and teaching short-term, small group High School Equivalency preparation classes such as:
    • Essay writing
    • Reading comprehension
    • Basic algebra, geometry, and statistics
    • Science
    • Social studies

Qualifications include a Master's degree in any social science, humanities, mathematics, natural science discipline, or liberal studies, as appropriate for the course.

Official transcripts are required upon offer of employment. Foreign transcripts and degrees require official certification of equivalency to U.S. transcripts and degrees by a certified U.S. review service at the time of application.
