Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Health seeks a dedicated Noncommunity Program Sanitarian to enforce federal and state water safety rules and support drinking water protection. You will lead sanitary surveys, sample testing, and enforcement actions to ensure safe noncommunity water supplies.

Required four years of experience and a REG/RS credential; telework up to 50% is possible, with travel up to half the time. Day shift, Monday–Friday, in St. Paul, MN.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of professional experience as an environmental health specialist or sanitarian.
• REHS/RS credential issued by NEHA.
• Credit for advanced degrees as described in the minimum qualifications.
• Clear written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage sanitary surveys, inner-wellhead inspection, and source water inventories.
• Collect and analyze water samples and provide technical inspections.
• Investigate and resolve waterborne contamination incidents and emergencies.
• Enforce SDWA violations and document enforcement actions.
• Travel up to 50% of the time as needed.
