Job Overview

West Penn Hospital, part of Allegheny Health Network, is seeking a Non-RN Lactation Consultant to provide expert lactation care and support. Responsibilities
  • Provide autonomous, expert lactation management for inpatient and outpatient dyads, adhering to established standards.
  • Educate and consult with patients and healthcare team members based on evidence-based practices.
  • Assist with daily operations of the lactation center and monitor breastfeeding equipment.
  • Contribute to departmental and organizational goals, including program development and marketing activities.
  • Participate in the development of lactation policies and programs as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Lactation Consultant
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification
