Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist (ND Tech) operates electronic equipment to record electrical impulses in the brain for EEG studies and may assist with NCS/EMGs, contributing to brain function evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Collect and review patients’ medical information to customize tests.
• Accurately apply electrodes using the 10-20 system.
• Perform high-quality EEGs following technical standards.
• Identify artifacts or interferences in EEG recordings.
• Record, review, annotate, and organize EEG data.
• Provide excellent patient care and customer service.
• Maintain and troubleshoot diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure care for patients’ physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs.
• Collaborate with management to meet departmental goals.
• Participate in quality improvement and continuing education.
• Assist in operative monitoring of patients with invasive electrodes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of neurodiagnostic testing subjects.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in EEG testing is required; healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office; EPIC software preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in or graduated from an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program, or at least 2 years of on-the-job EEG training.
• EEG registration (R. EEG T.) required within 3 years of hire.
• Healthcare provider BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
