Job Summary
: Performs tests and analyzes body fluids to provide vital clinical information that leads to diagnosis and/or medical treatment of the patient. Performs appropriate procedures according to well-defined age-specific standards.
Position Highlights
:
- Shift Schedule : Full-Time; Days, 1st shift, Monday-Friday w/rotating weekends & holidays
- Department : Hematology
- Location : Winston Salem, NC

Education/Experience/Certifications to Qualify:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Eligible for Medical Technologist certification (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
- Hematology experience is preferred but not required.
- Will consider MLT or MT.
How You’ll Impact Patient Care:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Assure accurate and timely performance of patient procedures and/or issuance of blood products.
- Assure accurate and timely performance of results reporting, QC and QA procedures according to departmental policy.
- Follow proper safety and identification procedures when dealing with patients and/or specimens under any circumstance or environment to prevent the spread of bloodborne and/or airborne diseases.
- Improve work skills through self-study and continuing education.
- Contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the section and department.
- Exhibit and promote the professional image of laboratories.
- Adhere to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
