Job summary

EPM, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, seeks a Mortgage Non-QM Underwriter to analyze and underwrite loans outside traditional agency guidelines. You will review complex income, assess credit and collateral, and issue underwriting decisions in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3+ years in mortgage underwriting with Non-QM/wholesale experience, plus strong income analysis, compliance, and appraisal review knowledge. Encompass LOS proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience required.
• Recent experience in Non-QM and wholesale underwriting required.
• Knowledge of Non-QM, Jumbo, and residential loan products.
• Strong understanding of income analysis, compliance regulations, and appraisal review.
• Proficiency with Encompass LOS and AUS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and underwrite Non-QM loans including Bank Statement, 1099, DSCR, Full Doc, and Self-Employed borrower profiles.
• Analyze complex income documentation including personal and business tax returns and bank statements.
• Evaluate credit, income, and collateral to determine loan eligibility.
• Issue clear underwriting decisions and communicate required conditions effectively.
• Work closely with brokers and internal teams to clarify documentation and guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards.

The Role

EPM is growing, and we are seeking a Non-QM Underwriter to join our team. You’ll be responsible for analyzing and underwriting residential mortgage loans that fall outside traditional agency guidelines and issuing clear, well-supported underwriting decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring
