Job summary

Penn Medicine’s Non-Invasive Cardiology nursing team provides specialized care in collaboration with echocardiology sonographers, technologists and cardiologists. The nurse oversees patients in the holding area and supports testing before and after procedures.

The role requires a BSN and active Pennsylvania RN License, with 2+ years in cardiac cath nursing preferred. ACLS/BLS certifications are mandatory; RCIS/CCRN are a plus.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Two or more years of cardiac catheterization nursing experience preferred.
• Current Pennsylvania RN License required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• RCIS and/or CCRN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the non-invasive heart and vascular staff to provide high quality care for patients undergoing non-invasive testing.
• Monitors and cares for patients pre and post testing in the holding area.
• Communicates with the non-invasive team regarding patient status.
• Provides patient teaching before and after testing.
• Responds quickly and efficiently during an emergency and follows ACLS protocols.
• Maintains non-invasive area and crash carts.
• Available for assistance with testing including bubble studies, dobutamine stress tests, perflutren lipid injection.
