Job summary

UPMC Altoona in central Pennsylvania seeks a cardiologist to join a busy team including 2 interventionalists, 1 non-invasive cardiologist, 2 electrophysiologists, and a heart failure specialist.

This clinic offers an established patient base, a pacemaker clinic, a 1:5 call schedule, and a Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm workday. A comprehensive benefits package includes income guarantee, sign-on bonus, relocation, CME allowance, PTO, insurance, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Cardiology or eligibility for recent graduates.
• Experience in interventional procedures and pacemaker clinics is desirable.
• Willingness to work in a team-based cardiology practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology care with a balanced schedule.
• Collaborate with vascular and cardiothoracic teams across the Heart & Vascular Institute.
• Participate in a 1:5 call schedule to support patient needs.

Opportunity Details:

• Join a cardiology practice of 2 interventionalists, 1 non-invasive cardiologist, 2 electrophysiologists, and 1 heart failure specialist
• Practice is an established clinic with solid patient base
• Practice staffs 4 PAs and 2 nurse practitioners
• Clinic is located 1.5 miles from UPMC Altoona hospital
• Additional clinic hours will be scheduled at neighboring UPMC Bedford hospital
• Altoona clinic has comprehensive pacemaker clinic
• Good inpatient and outpatient work balance. Work schedule is Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm
• Call schedule will be 1:5
• Candidate must be board certified or board eligible if recent grad

Cath lab in hospital served over 3,000 patients and added TAVR and Watchman procedures in 2019
