Job summary

Alter Metal Recycling, a long-established Midwest metals company, seeks a production worker to join our non-ferrous operations. The role offers hands-on training and a clear pathway for advancement within a safety‑minded, team‑oriented environment.

You will sort, remove non-conforming materials, and ensure high-quality non-ferrous products while maintaining cleanliness and PPE compliance. Prior metals experience is helpful; HS diploma or GED preferred. Benefits included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in metals or industrial operations advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the required quality of non-ferrous products.
• Remove large pieces of plastic.
• Remove stainless steel.
• Remove any non-conforming material.
• Keeps picking areas clean and orderly.
• Assists with cleanup duties at the end of production.
• Identifies different metals and sorts the various grades according to specifications.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and consistently wear required PPE.
• Along with other duties, as assigned.
