Job Description

The NDT Inspector II will execute and interpret non‑destructive test using multiple methods (VT, MT, and PT) to detect defects on ship structure and piping. This role involves working in challenging environments, including shipyards and Navy vessels while following strict NAVSEA and QMS requirements. Inspectors are responsible for completing detailed quality assurance reports, reviewing drawings, reviewing operating procedures, overseeing production work, and reporting issues to the Quality Manager. Experienced inspectors will also provide training and guidance to less experienced employees. Other duties may be assigned as necessary by the Quality Manager.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Manage, oversee, schedule and assign tasks to one or more multiple jobs.
  • Install, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
  • Analyze and evaluate products and related performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
  • Install, upgrade and remove products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
  • Maintain effective customer communications and relations.
  • Provide onsite training to customer support personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School education, trade school, or equivalent, and 2 years of related experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trade specialty.
  • Previously certified as Level II in VT, MT, and PT inspections with proof of certifications.
  • 2-5 years of previous experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
Preferred Requirements
  • Expertise in NAVSEA Standard Items, MIL-STD-271, MIL-STD-1689. Prior shipyard experience.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes, no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise, and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.

Salary Range

$38,438.00 - $48,000.00 (based on role location, expectations, and responsibilities).
