As a Local Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting our quality food products to local customers within the Sacramento area. Experience with box trucks is preferred but not mandatory. Routes start as early as 2am, and drivers can acquire daily overtime with our 10–12-hour shifts. Deliveries will require substantial physical effort throughout the scheduled daily routes. Primary Purpose: The Non-Commercial Delivery Route Truck Driver delivers produce and other products to General Produce customers. Drivers are expected to provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and verify accurate quantities are delivered safely and efficiently.

Functions:

• Perform routine safety inspections of the vehicle before routes.
• Down-stack pallets in trucks and unload merchandise for deliveries.
• Drive safely and responsibly according to CHP laws and regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Record delivery information on daily sales and delivery records.
• Communicate with the office to resolve service issues.
• Report regularly to leads and supervisors.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

1. Valid California Driver's License.
2. Driving record must meet company policy; no DUIs.
3. Basic English skills (reading, writing, speaking).
4. Customer service skills.
5. Ability to read maps.
6. Basic technological proficiency (pagers, cell phones, etc.).
7. Ability to perform primary functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Licenses: Driver must maintain a valid CA driver license, and DMV record must meet company policy to perform driving duties.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; at least one year of commercial truck driving experience. Experience in the produce industry or food distribution is preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include regularly lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs, sitting for long periods, and performing various physical activities. Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.
