Job summary

Providence Covenant Hobbs Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician to maintain the sterile field and pass instruments during operations. You will assist the surgical team, support aseptic technique, and step in as second scrub as needed, under RN Circulator supervision.

Location is Covenant Hobbs Hospital, with on-site shifts. Qualifications include BLS certification upon hire and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, with certification on hire.

Qualifications

• National Provider BLS certification (AHA) required on hire.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program with certification upon hire.
• Operating Room training or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field during surgery and pass instruments, sutures, and sponges.
• Ensure aseptic technique to prevent contamination and infection.
• Assist as second scrub and support circulating nurse as needed.

As a member of the surgical team, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse Circulator, maintains the operating room sterile field; passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery. Insures that proper aseptic technique is utilized to prevent contamination and infection. Performs in the role of second scrub as needed. Assists the registered nurse with circulating duties.

• New Mexico: Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology or Armed Services Surgical Technology program.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
