AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, FL, is seeking a patient care technician to assist in delivering patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will accurately take vital signs and document in the electronic medical record, ensuring procedures are recorded per policy.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and ongoing skills development; candidates with CNA or CPCT/A credentials are preferred, with a focus on upholding AdventHealth's values and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• CNA certification preferred; other patient care tech certifications accepted as preferred.

Job Description:

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.


• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record


• Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.


• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.


• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies


• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.


• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.


• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously.


• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members


• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff


• May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]


• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]


• NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred] OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Preferred] OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Preferred]


• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

• $16.02 - $25.63
