Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support clinical operations in the Neurology department.

You will greet patients, prepare exam rooms, and help with exams and procedures while ensuring documentation is complete and accurate. The role also involves scheduling, patient education on follow-up care, maintaining equipment and supplies, and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program OR 1 year clinical experience.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms and obtain initial information.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies are available.
• Assist with and/or perform exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedule appointments and set up referrals.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Educate patients on follow-up expectations.
• Maintain quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assist with completion of medical documentation.
• Assist with office tasks including calls, messages, data entry, and cash handling.
