Shift : Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm. Class starts September 8th, 2025

The role you’ll contribute:

Employees are hired to complete a 6-week medical assistant program and will be required to pass the NHA exam. This is a partnership with Blue Ridge Community College. The course teaches the basics of Medical Assisting: Clinical, Administrative, and Laboratory. Coursework includes scheduling appointments, insurance coding and billing, medical transcription, assisting with examinations/treatments, routine laboratory procedures, and understanding ethical and legal issues. Upon completion, students must pass the NHA exam. Blue Ridge Community College is an approved NHA test site. Failure to complete the course or pass the exam will result in termination of employment with AdventHealth.

• Meet the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of patient care.
• Work under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician, demonstrating initiative and responsibility.
• Maintain regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Assist nursing and medical staff with routine examinations and treatments for diverse patient populations including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
